9 Celebrity Home Decor Lines to Know

You’ve seen their cosmetic endorsements. Their perfumes ads. Their clothing lines.

But did you know that a few celebrities have branched out into the world of home décor? From simply acting to muses for designers, to being fully involved in the creation of a limited edition line, celebrities just can’t seem to stay out of interior design. Read on—there are a few that might surprise you…

Jenny McCarthy
“Too Good by Jenny” is actress Jenny McCarthy’s home décor line for babies. The actress-cum-activist’s line is entirely non-toxic and consists of eco-friendly items for the nursery, like cribs, blankets, mobiles and other accessories. The items are produced without harsh chemicals, and fabrics are all cotton—no polyester or synthetics for her products.

Cindy Crawford
In 2005, supermodel Cindy Crawford launched a home décor line, “Cindy Crawford Home”, manufactured by HM Richards Inc. The extensive collection ranges from patio furniture to lighting to glassware. The line is said to have been developed with families in mind (Cindy has two children of her own). Cindy’s role is primarily in consulting the designers on the features, styles and colors of the items produced.

Kathy Ireland
Continuing with the trend of supermodels becoming home decorators is Kathy Ireland. What started as a line of socks made with Kmart lead to a clothing line, which eventually evolved into a brand-marketing company. The entrepreneur eventually stepped into the world of interior décor, designing glassware, flatware and dinnerware with Gorham. The line features both tradition items (think delicate floral patterns) and contemporary pieces (textured bone china and glass).

Eva Mendes
Actress Eva Mendes’s home décor line, Vida, was created in 2008 with the vision of infusing luxury into every day living. The line, which includes brightly colored dinnerware and bedding, is inspired by her travels and available exclusively at Macy’s. She credits her other job—you know, acting—which allows her to travel extensively, and says that each destination leaves her with a lasting impression. The philosophy behind her line is to mix and match the pieces, eschewing a formal, uniform look.

Paula Deen
It’s no secret that this celebrity chef/television personality has had a turbulent year, but her furniture line, Paula Deen Home, is still in production. Described as the comfort food of furniture, Paula’s line, manufactured by Universal Furniture, covers just about everything, from bedroom pieces to home office equipment to furniture for dining and living rooms.

Brad Pitt
The world of interior design is not limited to the ladies—in 2012, Brad Pitt announced a line of art deco-style furniture, in a partnership with furniture maker Frank Pollaro. The line is dubbed “Pitt-Pollaro”, and pieces are produced in limited quantities.

The individual pieces, which are made in the USA, are surprisingly sophisticated, including a sleek patent leather armchair, tables with twisting geometrical metal legs—and don’t forget the marble bathtub for two. No work on whether he owns one with Angelina Jolie.

Diddy
Puff Daddy, P. Diddy, Sean Combs—call him what you will. This rapper/actor/producer/clothing designer also dabbles in home furnishings. His line with Macy’s, “Sean John Home Collection”, is surprisingly tame. It is said to be marketed towards the “upbeat sophisticated urban customer”.

Donald Trump
Are you really surprised that Donald Trump has stuck his nose in the world of interior décor? The Trump Home brand includes both “affordable luxury” lines and high-end products (the latter, a collaboration with luxury furniture supplier Dorya, coming to you next spring), including furniture and home accessories. The inspiration? Why, Trump’s own home, of course. He let designers invade his lair to get a sense of his opulent taste.

LeBron James
Wittingly dubbed “Home Court”, basketball superstar LeBron James teamed up with American Signature to launch a home furnishing line targeted to children. At least he stayed true to his roots—the line features basketball-themed items, including desks, dressers, and beds.
